Operating a Powerboat from Saugerties Marina

To operate a powerboat from Saugerties Marina, you must complete a boating instruction lesson with one of our captains. After gaining basic knowledge of the area and how to handle the boat, you may operate it without the need of a CAPTAIN. If you have just purchased a boat and would like help navigating and understanding your boat, these courses are the perfect way to get started!

1 Hour Lesson:

This lesson is one hour long and will get you familiar with the basics of navigating the Hudson, and safe docking procedures. In addition, our experienced captains will guide you to some of the most scenic locations the Hudson River has to offer.

Cost: $150.00

2 Hour Lesson (For Inexperienced Boaters):
This lesson is two hours long and designed to offer more in-depth instruction for boaters with little or no experience. You can expect to learn the controls of a boat, safe docking procedures, and navigating. As offered with the 1 hour course, our experienced captains will guide you to some of the most scenic locations the Hudson River has to offer.

* These lessons are only for operating rental boats at Saugerties Marina or to gain knowledge of your own vessel from an experienced captain. They Are Not official licenses in any capacity and there will be no official certificate. However, they are very helpful as they provide a hands-on approach understanding boating.
